What does our committee do?
Organizes and executes the National “Screen Free Week” campaign at Oak Knoll.
What types of responsibilities do our volunteers help with?
Organizing paperwork and materials for teachers that educate on the disadvantages of screen time (decreased physical activity, decreased family time, etc.)
Organizing paperwork and materials for teachers that can stimulate discussion on replacement activities (physical play, family time, reading, creative play, etc) during the times a child was formerly using a screen for recreation.
Organizing take-home paperwork and materials for students and parents.
When do we need you?
1-2 weeks prior to and during the "TV turn off week.
How much time commitment is involved?
1-2 weeks prior to and during the "TV turn off week.
Any special skills required?
None!! Simply an enthusiasm for stimulating non-screen time play and activities!!
