SOME PLAYGROUND RULES:
-We throw only balls at Oak Knoll: no sticks, tanbark, rocks, food, etc.
- If balls go over the fence, let the yard duty supervisor know; kids cannot climb over the fence or climb over the baseball field backstop
-No tree climbing
-No climbing on the ‘outside’ of the tunnel slide
-Kids cannot stand on the swings or swing on their knees; they have to have part of their upper body on the swing
-No playing “underdog” on the swings
-No running between the swings
-No chanting (usually it’s negative)
-Kids are not allowed behind the portables (even to use the bathrooms)
-Kids cannot play in the back areas or in the Kinder Yard (ask a yard duty supervisor if you’re not sure where kids can play)
-Kids are not allowed near the plant area near the 5th grade classes
-Kids can visit the library, the science lab, or garden – these areas are OK
-If Mrs. Cottrell (Art teacher) has lunchtime activities, kids are allowed to go to the Art Room
-No playing inside the bathrooms
GAME CART/CABINET: (big blue locked cabinet)
-This is being replenished and will be used in the Upper Yard soon
-After eating time, Cathy/Linda/Dorothy will unlock this
PEER HELPERS: (these are 4th & 5th graders on the leadership team who may have on “red t-shirts” to identify themselves)
-Peer helpers will get involved with kids that wander around and need something to do
